Prerequisites come first

The player guides agree that Ending 1, SOLVE ET COAGULA, and Ending 2, MAGNUM OPUS, must already be complete. Confirm those outcomes before attempting the early exit. The ordinary opening run is not the same state as a new run after both main endings.

You do not need to finish the Bible and Iron Cross route merely to follow the Ending 4 instructions. That is the separate VIVUS EX MORTIBUS objective.

How to trigger the early exit

1. Complete both main ending routes and verify their results.
2. Start a new game.
3. At the opening ground-floor lobby, locate the building’s main front entrance rather than going to the elevator.
4. Stand at the entrance, open the inventory and use the Apartment Key on that door.
5. Watch Julia leave and check for the RENUNTIATIO result and achievement.

The door is the building exit, not Apartment B’s door on Floor 3. The key’s familiar name can make it tempting to repeat the normal upstairs opening, which is a different task.

If the ending does not happen

Check the prior-ending state, current run and target door separately:

• Prior results: Have both main endings actually completed, rather than one being a plan or a local tracker checkbox?
• Run: Are you at the beginning of a new game after those completions?
• Door and action: Are you using the key from the inventory at the external entrance, rather than simply interacting with an interior door?

These are diagnostic checks based on the documented route. They are not a claim that every platform’s completion-state storage has been tested by this site. If your conditions match but the interaction differs, retain your saves and report the platform, displayed version and exact door used.

Is there a boss for this ending?

No boss fight appears in the described early-exit route. That is different from the final encounters associated with the two main endings. This page does not retell the closing cinematic or make an estimate of how many minutes the attempt should take.
